In Devlin v. High Liner Foods Incorporated, 2019 ONSC 6897, the court awarded 22 months of notice to a high-ranking employee who was terminated without cause. The court found that the plaintiff’s 25 years of sales experience would have limited transferability outside of the seafood manufacturing industry. This analysis is contrary to previous court rulings which have held that sales skills are highly transferable.
